Fees and Funding

Access to affordable counselling

image3

We aim to provide counselling to the people needing it at an affordable cost.  As a charity we rely  largely on donations made by our clients.

A small amount of our income comes from charitable donations and fundraising events.  We are grateful to the Colyer-Fergusson Trust for a three year grant to support our activities.

Fundraising events in the past have included Quiz Nights, a Golf Day and a Dinner Dance.  All our counsellors volunteer their time (unpaid), and our Trustees provide their services free of charge to the charity.

Our main costs are paying for regular supervision for our counsellors, some travelling expenses, a part-time manager, administrator, clinical lead, and for heating and lighting of the premises.

Therefore we request a donation from our clients for each session they attend and this is usually discussed when you first contact us.  We recognise that some clients have financial difficulties (e.g. low income, receiving benefits etc), and we will discuss what donation is sustainable.

For our clients in these circumstances, we will initially limit the number of weekly sessions offered to 12.  This is then reviewed towards the end of the period.
